Akira has been Senior Advisor since April 2022. He is currently also Managing Executive Officer of Daiwa Securities Group, Chairman of Daiwa Securities Realty and Chairman of Daiwa Real Estate Asset Management.
Akira began his career at Marubeni in 1986, engaging in domestic and overseas real estate development and the management of developed real estate. In 2003, he became CEO of the management company of Nippon Residential Investment Corporation (now Advance Residence Investment Corporation), Japan’s first listed REIT specializing in residential buildings. He became CEO of Daiwa Real Estate Asset Management in 2010, Chairman of Daiwa Energy & Infrastructure in 2019 and Managing Executive Officer of Daiwa Securities Group and CEO of Daiwa Securities Realty in 2021.
Akira has an engineering science degree from Osaka University.
