A power supply contract under FIP scheme with Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions

Investment Date: May 13, 2022

Through an SPC in which we have invested, we have entered into a power supply contract with Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation ("Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions") under the Feed-in Premium ("FIP") scheme for the solar PV plant we co-developed with CO2O Inc. We will continue to acquire and operate solar PV plants under the FIP scheme to contribute to carbon neutrality.

Highlights

This power supply contract utilizes the FIP scheme, which began in Japan in April 2022. It is an initial step toward addressing the social demand to make renewable energy competitive with other power sources. For renewable energy to contribute effectively to carbon neutrality, it must become an independent and affordable power source in the future. By entering into a power supply contract with Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions, an aggregator, we can establish a quasi-FIT scheme without bearing the risk of electricity price fluctuations, demonstrating a practical example of the FIP power generation business model.

Future Actions

Starting with this project, we will explore methods and solutions for renewable energy power generation businesses under the FIP scheme, in collaboration with solar PV companies nationwide. We will continue to provide solutions to our clients as they accelerate their initiatives toward carbon neutrality.
